Oil/Diesel in footwell

Postby TallPaul » Sun Mar 19, 2017 8:48 pm

I happened to be cleaning the cab of the van today and noticed something had been leaking behind the trim on the passenger side. My first thoughts were maybe something had leaked in the glovebox but I'm the only one to drive it and I know there hasn't been anything in there. Its definitely oil-like but was clear so I'm thinking its likely to be diesel rather than engine oil. Its not bad, I wiped it to see what it was before taking the photos but I don't think its much of a leak, may have been a one-off incident. Anyone got any ideas?

Could it be antifreeze?
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

I've had a water leak there before, I put it down to condensation from the aircon/ heaterbox.

No aircon but could be coolant, obviously the heater matrix is up there. I'll keep an eye on it and see if its still happening...

Money on the matrix. Hope it's a simple fix.

Tasted it and its very sweet, I've also gone blind!
So most likely the heater matrix but its such a small weep I'm almost certainly going to leave it until it becomes a problem. Or until I can see what I'm doing again...
