Transit Custom Sport Engine Failure

Postby DylanBrown » Wed Mar 22, 2017 1:12 pm

Dear All

I was interested to hear if anybody has experienced any Transit Custom Sport Engine Failures?

The reason i ask is i bought a brand new 14 plate Custom Sport, with which i have driven 48K miles, fully maintained service history with Ford Dealership.

With no warning at all the engine blew up whilst driving on the motorway, it has been confirmed by Ford that the Crank Shaft snapped and im still waiting to hear back from them if they will cover the repair under warranty. ( and yes the oil level was correct and no warning lights showing on the dashboard)

Any feedback would be appreciated

If you've maintained it as per Ford requirements then i expect they'll honour the warranty.
Did you etis your van to see if there were any recalls?

Crank snapping sounds like lack of lubrication to me but i doubt you'll find out.
