Advice on changing door lock barrel

I have a 64 plate custom, been reading lots about security, it's going in for extra locks on the side door and rear door tomorrow. Is it worth having the drivers door barrel changing to a Hykee type, my key is the flat key, not the old Ford type.
Or are people changing then because they can't be forced. Any comments appreciated.
