Latest nav software

Postby dug1001 » Fri Apr 28, 2017 9:46 am

Hi all,

I've just had a new custom DCIV delivered yesterday and the sd card for the navigation isn't in the slot.

Does anyone know what the latest version should be? I'll get the dealer to post one to me but I want to make sure it's the latest one available.

Cheers,

Peter

Mines 2015, went over a roundabout weds that was a cross roads :(
Is there a way to sync update the sd card? Can a new sd card be copied over mine? Or are they secured to each van on installation?

I bought a new one off eBay after reading up on here. Came from Latvia I think. You can't update without buying the ew SD card. There were a few anxious moments when it reprogrammed the whole system but it was fine after. Mine is on 2016.

Ok thanks John. A quick look on eBay showed some V6 ones listed, wonder if there's a newer one. I assume they update them annually.

Haha to be fair that even happens to me using Google maps.

It would be nice to update the sync. This 2017 van uses Siri via my iPhone which is handy.

We've also got a '64 plate Custom and it'd be nice to be able to do it on that one.

Hi loot, do you mean you bought a newer version of the nav software on an sd card and it also updates the whole sync software or just the nav software?

Cheers.

Mine is a 65 plate and the sync uses Siri and google maps so makes the oem Nav redundant. You don't need a 2017 van to utilise Siri and the iPhone mapping.

We got a 65 plate too which doesn't use Siri. That's what I'm wondering whether that one can get updated. That van doesn't have the sat nav built in.

Are the differences between Sync 1,2 & 3, software or hardware based?

Sync 3 must be touch as far as I know.

99.9% of all sync 1 are probably non touch.

As far as I can remember it updated the whole thing, SYNC included. The icons and font size were different after, although that may only have been the GPS icon. I got the exact model number to order from this forum and googled it. Ford were charging £140ish and I paid a whole lot less.

I have just ordered the latest version of MFD Navigation software for the sync1 Custom. I believe it has just been released, each year it is on the 1st March.

Parts no. 2093759.
2017 V7.

When it comes, is it straight forward to install? Manual says, "for updates speak to a Ford dealer".

When it is up and running I will give it a while and then let you know if there is any improvement on the 2015 V5 version I have now.
