Fuel consumption

Postby sergeantcookie » Sun Apr 30, 2017 5:52 pm

Just wondering what mpg you guys are getting from your customs?
I can't seem to average better than 32, and I barely carry anything in the back and it's mainly dual carriageway driving

I can't seem to get above 32.9 average and I've never had a full van. Usually just carry a generator and a gas bottle and a few bits and bobs so around 150kg

Also there seems to be a fair but of turbo lag in 3rd gear at low revs?

The low rev fueling is pretty woeful in stock form..... a remap sorts that right out though if you are that way inclined.

As for the consumption it really is very subjective. I average 29 but my van always carries 400-600 kg and never sees a motorway. Very local stop start driving.

Changing the oil and filter at 10k improved the consumption.

My previous work vehicle averaged 14mpg so I'm made up with 29 anyway!

(H1 L2 DCIV Limited started life as a 125 wears 18" wheels and always heavy).

33 for mine although squeekiing as a scientist I think you may find horse power ,wheel and tyre sizes , gear ratios and wheel base have some bearing on mpg

Just got my new DCIV 130 L2 limited last week.
Loving it so far!!

I'm impressed and frankly amazed that so far it is managing 40mpg - that's empty and over 400 miles of mostly A roads and motorways.

Long may it continue
