July build date.... Ford order reference number...

Got told today that my build date is in July, so trying to work out when the delivery will be.. . I'm assuming tail end of August?

Also got some reference number consisting of a letter and 4 digits. "Cxxxx"

Any ideas is this is a proper number I can use to track the van myself, or is a fob off/dealer specific thing?

Pretty sure the dealer is Lookers in Stoke BTW. The broker is Vanarama.

Once it's built you can get the vin, until then there isn't a way of anyone other than Ford tracking it

I thought you could get the VIN and follow the order on ETIS or something?

At least that's what I thought I did when I ordered the last van.

You can't follow an order on etis (afaik you never have been able to) only see what's been built.

If you think you can, there's no harm in asking for the vin though.

Be also interested in when you ordered. I ordered an automatic tourneo custom in December and was told build date was May which has now been pushed out to July.

Hoping they don't push out again.Anyone order an automatic and have similar feedback. I'm in Ireland this is the only forum for good info on issues and modifications to custom

Signed the paperwork last week. Very excited.... At least this time I have a van in good condition already, so all I'm losing is resale value.

Last time my MK7 was on a path to self destruction and it was getting tight as I knew it was going to fail the MOT. It's replacement got delivered 2 days after it expired, but then I had to send it to get racked out that took another 4 days. Very stressful.

What did you order out of interest? I'd have the power shift auto if I had a choice... it wasn't around when I bought mine.

Congrats Dan.... sounds a great choice.... especially the auto (I hate the Ford clutch and flywheel, really tiring in traffic as it needs loads of revs).........look forward to the pics.

This is my first auto, and I actually enjoy the act if driving and changing gear. But, I drive to and around London every day and traffic has got to the point of being unbearable.

Also, skene a lot of time in Japan and will move there eventually.... Auto's are pretty much an they have there so might as well get used to them as when we hire cars there I spend half my time changing Phantom gears
