Rear view mirror (without camera)

Postby roving-ross » Sat Jul 08, 2017 11:18 pm

Has anyone any experience of buying a rearview mirror (without a camera) for a 2013 custom?

I am simply after a rearview mirror that fits onto the clips below the cover that hides the rain sensor. I don't need a rearview with a screen as I don't have the camera fitted.

You may well ask why I want to fit a rearview mirror in a panel van but it has now been converted to include rear seats, side windows and rear window so it now makes sense to add a rearview mirror.

I am struggling to find just a mirror and if I do they are really pricey (FordPartsUK quoted £54 which includes the mirror and covers).

I did wonder whether I might be able to use one for a tourneo but don't know whether it will fit?

The Torneo is just a custom van with seats and windows I see no reason as to why it wouldn't be the same
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

Ta Wadey. Exactly what I was thinking. Do you (or anyone) know of some good suppliers for Torneo parts?

You'll see mostly the bit in between the back doors in a Reid view mirror
Unless you've got a one piece tailgate jobbi with glass init

Yep, it's a tailgate (less common I know). So it's an unobstructed viewing area.

Hi, I am also looking for a rear mirror for my transit custom campervan. Did you find one?. Does it fit on the existing cover?. Cheers, Pete.

Hey Pete

Sorry for the delayed reply - my busiest time of year so very little time for anything else!

I did find several suppliers but all beyond my budget so I am putting this on hold until I've got some more funds (it all went into the van conversion and building an office......)

Let me know if you want the links to the sites I found tho'

After spending a lot of time trying to find what fits as Iv got a reverse camera mirror and needed the mount. Iv worked out you can use a mirror from a focus, mondeo, fiesta etc etc 2012 ish Onwards I think as long as it's got the round mount stuck to the glass there's loads of them
In the scrap yards ! . if you don't have the mount you will need that too. the trims are available from Ford I paid less than 30 for both halfs
iv got the mondeo trim as I only wanted the mount but thought it was worth a try but it won't cover the sensor on my screen you might be lucky
Iv still got the email from my Ford dealer with the available covers if it's any help to if you drop me a pm with your email I'll forward it to you
Hope this helps Wadey
