Looking for a new van need help!! Clueless!

Postby nara321 » Fri Jul 14, 2017 10:21 pm

Hi there I wonder if anyone can help me? I'm looking for a new van, I love the customs and seem like my best option but I don't know too much about them and I am honestly overwhelmed with the amount of different specs/models!!

Here is what I know I need ...
Long wheel base
Low roof
2.0litre
Manual
6 speed
Diesel

I do a lot of miles up and down the country (would be nice if it was kind on fuel haha) .

I do dog training so will need to get it kitted out with cages to transport my guys.

I will also be towing a caravan with it most weekends in the summer.

Basically I have no idea regarding what I neeeeed or anything to do with ps / horsepower so any help would be so much appreciated!!

I need someone to tell me what to buy ahhh !!

Thanks in advance :)

The 290 , 310 is the gross weight of the van a little one will be good for you few cages and a few tripehounds
Mind you if your towing a caravan ? Then I don't know I don't do towing what weights your caravan?
A limited is good because its got stuff on it you need like air con and heated seats
There's someone on here thats a manufacturer of dog cages for vans mobile dogs arsewashers too
He's a bit of a w*** though
Allcock canine vehicle conversions I think its called

Ah right I see our caravan is mass in running order 1183kg, we normally have 6 built in cages in the back (2 up 2 down in the back and 1 up 1 done on the side behind the drivers seat) so a fair amount of metal weight (6 dogs soon to be 7 haha) so not sure what would be best?

Cages won't weigh much 250kg max I would think
And if you can stack the dogs 2 high they can't weigh much either  so a 290 would be plenty for that stuff but
Its the caravan thing I know nothing about
You'll have to wait till Ned comes along
He knows all sorts of weird sh*t like that 8)

I've recently bought a LWB 130 Limited double cab - very pleased with it.
Spends a lot of time on motorways up and down the country.
Recently did a trip to Mont blanc and back, 4 people, plus mountain bikes & luggage - still managed just over 39mpg over 1600 miles!
