heated screen hassle

has anyone had grief with the heated screen on their custom? when I bought my van, the guy told me the drivers side of screen didn't work, which it didn't for a while, then the whole screen worked, then passenger side only,( easy to tell coz it was winter) other day screen misted up, and it seemed to not be working at all, which is a pain as its a very handy. I know its not the fuse as all parts have worked at some point,i know the jackplugs are under the pillar trim in the cab, are these known to fail or be poor connections? Not too much of a problem at the moment, but need to sort it before winter.
