New member 2017 L2 sport

Postby Fro » Fri Jul 21, 2017 6:35 pm

Hi All,
Ordered a new custom L2 sport in march due for delivery mid August (going to wait until 1st sept for new plate as so close).
Have a question.
Checked the ford website the other day, and noticed that the sport van now comes with 17 inch black machined alloys instead of the 18 inch silver ones that were standard when i ordered the van, although these are still available they are now a cost option !!
This prompted a call to my dealer, who checked and confirmed my van had been built and had the 17 inch wheels and not the 18 inch i thought i was getting. He spoke to the ford rep who said that the 17 inch were introduced on the L2 sport for better ride quality. I cannot find any evidence of this anywhere, and as this is really bothering me as I don't really like the new wheels that much. So does anyone on here have a copy of the transit custom brochure from early this year, as from memory it shows the 18 inch alloys as standard, as this would help my case with fords..
Thanks.

Problem is, i have entered into a contract to buy and paid a small deposit. At the moment they are saying that L2 sport has alway come with 17 inch alloys, but i cant seem to find info to prove that either way.
Dealer has offered 3 options so far.
Buy 18 inch wheels and tyres for £1450 plus VAT (although if i had been given the choice at the time I would have paid the £150 extra option that they now charge for them)
Re order van, with possible 6 month wait again.
Check with dealer network and see if there is one available with same spec as my order with the 18 inch alloys, which is fairly unlikely as i have been waiting since march...

When the lwb sport became available to order in Jan 2017 there was no literature in print or online,(in fact i spoke to three dealers that didn't know ford were making one). From what i can see the new wheels started showing in the online broucher in late May, i ordered mine in March.

I Know that's my problem, i know it sounds stupid but the wheels were a big part of me ordering the "sport"

That's why the brochure says, "The right is reserved to change specifications, colours and prices of the models and items illustrated and described in this publication at any time."
