Aftermarket alarm - any recommendations?

Postby user774 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 6:48 pm

Right then chaps.

I'm looking for suggestions for an aftermarket alarm please.
Which alarm and what do they do? I'm lost.

What's your favourite and why?

Andy.

Clifford seems to be a popular choice and well liked, also the cobra.

Most need to be professionally fitted to recognised by insurance companies though.

I had a Cobra fitted about two months ago.. I opted for an additional microwave sensor for the rear load space.. it hasn't missed a heartbeat. It also has a very subtle beep to say when set or unset, enough volume to make it obvious that it's alarmed but quiet enough to avoid annoyance..

Small home wireless alarm kit with the control panel next to your bed, you're the only one who cares if your van gets broken into, you need to be the first one to know at 2am in the morning.

And lots of CCTV and floodlighting.

Thanks chaps.

How about a tracker then? Are those worth the bother?

I hear they can be jammed to make them useless..
