Water running over ecu and wiring! Worrying!!

Anyone else concerned about the issue with water running over the ecu and wiring. I've recently purchased a 66 plate which is meant to have the fix to stop this happening, but it definitely hasn't. I'm planning to have the van as a long term keeper converting it into a camper. Worried now that this could cause expensive repairs in the future. Surely this isn't acceptable or safe for electrics?!

Was considering a sump guard to help low level water from road etc getting into any electrics, thoughts please folks?

Not sure what the solution is for ecu or if it is anything to worry about?

Hi Mike, I have read some of the info, just was hoping for a concise opinion from a few people. Sorry for asking again, just find it hard to make a decision when there is so much info to read.

A friend works for a firm that has customs and when it's raining hard the van cuts out and won't start again, has to be picked up by the AA.
That's all down to the ecu

Nice solution Damien! If you feel the foam sound deadening low down by the wheel arches on both sides is it now dry??
