tail gate scratch protectors

does anyone know where i can get a scratch protector for my 17 plate tail gate? i have stuck a phone screen protector to it so when i close it i dont scratch it,
that sounds daft...... you know the back door that lifts up well when you close it you have to or I do anyway, you/i have to touch the outside of the door to close it and im sure after a few months/years it will be come scratched . a bit like the muck that you get around the light switch at home if the wall is painted in a light colour.
only thing i can think of has a permanent fixture is one of those clear stickers they use on the wheel arches?

weird that because there isnt one, dont say use the bit above the reg plate because thats painted too
