I've seen that you can either go into a supplied canister which i have, or into the fuel sender, you buy an in tank pipe kit and cut the top off the inlet port.
Also seen that you can just T into the fuel pipe.

What's best?

So you dropped the tank then cut the top off, inserted the pickup pipe and put the connector on for the heater?
Did you use 1 for the mk8 or the 1 in the link?

Yes loot that’s what I did I whent to butler technic with the kit I got for my mk6 I had the drinking straw and the adapter left over as I did not use-them they said even though I bought the kit 9 years ago it was the same kit even the diagrams and photo was the same they sold me the rubber and plastic pipe to make up the full kit.
So I dropped the tank cut tip off and fitted the straw and adapter with this setup the heater cuts off at about 1/4 of a tank on mk6 it was 1/8 of a tank
As I didn’t want to fit it to mk8 on the drive at home I whent to the garage that do my mots and did it on the ramp with one of his mechanics so was a pay job so just fitted it as instructions if I’d been able to do it at work like the mk6 I’d have just cut off the tip and fitted the larger bore pipe straight onto the tip and tried the heater to see if it would work and not used the straw and adapter as nobody at Ford could tell me if the stand pipe was the same as mk6 and whent to bottom of the tank the only problem was the kit uses the small bore pipe and the pump uses the larger bore pipe on the inlet so small bore pipe takes a bit of forceing on

Hi guys
I am going to fit a cheaper Chinese heater in mine Mk 7 and decided to go into the tank. I followed this thread and am thinking of buying the kit from Butler.. however it says it is specifically for Eberspacher heaters. I can’t see why but any thoughts on whether it makes a difference what heater is picking up the fuel? Its 2kw
Also, there are so many stand pipe kits on EBay for about a £10, But I’m not sure what length Pipe I need to get anyone know if these will work? On a Budget! Thank you

My tank feed is the butler one when I fitted it I was running a D3lc Eberspacher I have now swapped it for a Chinese one and the feed pipe is the same bore so it’s the same straight fit you should have no problems .

Yes Loot the only thing I used from the new heater pipe work was the hot air outlet pipe from the heater to the outlet vent the Chinese one supplied was to tight to fit on the heater and needed to be slightly longer as the casing was shorter then the Eberspacer.
