Remap performance

Postby shire » Sat Sep 09, 2017 4:30 pm

Hi guys,

Got a Euro 5 16plate 125bhp custom, wondering who's best to go to for a remap and what power and price to expect?

Also if this could cause me any issues with ford while it's within its 3 year warranty?

Any help from guys that have done a remap would be much appreciated

There is loads of info on here regarding remapping the Euro 5 engine! In fact all the mapping threads are about the euro 5 as there isn't a solution as yet for the newer 2 litre Euro 6.

You need to physically remove the ECU and remap it on the bench. There are shear bolts on the metal cage that is there to prevent ECU removal so Ford will know if you go ahead and remap it.

Mine has 17 months warranty left but any engine related stuff will obviously not be covered so it is your choice. Did mine when it was under a year old and it's been great. It's not an aggressive tune at all , I'm sure more could be got out of it but reliability is a must for me.

It's worth having a chat with Vantuner, as I believe that the Euro 5 can now be mapped via the OBD

That sounds good! I will get mine done again if so.... not going to split the ecu apart again.
