Had the same problem and it ended up with the dealer ordering a new van and meanwhile I drove the one that had the wrong specs.

The first payment + monthly leasing costs was transferred to the new van when it came.

Basically I drove the van I loaned for free for 9 months (22 000 miles).
Well, I payed for a small service, that's all.

In the end I think that ford Sweden payed everything, it wasn't my dealers fault.
If they can pay I think that many other "official ford" in other countries can as well.

It wasn't done without a fight though.

Well, still not decision from Ford ...

Did get an email along the lines of - "you know that really expensive optional extra that you double checked several times was included in the quotation? Well, you don't really want it do you?"

Well, yes actually.... and by the way; I am driving home from delivering the van at the coachworks for its racking to be fitted. As per my email to you last week that whilst read (I have the receipt) was not responded too.

If you've got the adaptive cruse fitted and have a smack , obviously it can be replaced/repaired, surely a box of parts is cheaper than the total cost of replacing your van, although I do remember vans being written off for lack of spares. A few phone calls at the right level to the factory and a call to logistics or is that just too simple, I'm sure Loot and BJT can do it for crate of Special Brew and a bag of chips.

You'd think wouldn't you

Mind you, after the debacle that was the repair of my MK7 many moons ago, I wouldn't put much incompetence past Bloody Ford

The radar unit needed for adaptive cruise is quite an expensive unit, and is apparently very hard to get hold of. I think it's the same unit used on lots of cars with adaptive cruise.
I would imagine the upgrade consists of the radar and bracket, maybe the wiring loom to it, and a different set of controls, but it may be that the speedo cluster is different, as there are lots of dedicated symbols that light up when it's working. IDS would be involved, as it needs to control the brakes as well as throttle.

I have to say that having just bought a car with it fitted, normal non-adaptive cruise makes no sense :P

Yep, different steering wheel needed. Radar tucks under the grill to the side of the bloody ford badge.

I don't know if the cameras in the windscreen are different. I suppose the instrument cluster might be different too.... Depends on how flexible the display is; I think all the speed limit signs are supposed to be displayed there.

Little update.....

Email today confirming that I get to keep the van until the correct one is delivered.

No word yet on the consequential losses and interim lease payments.

Had the racking done though... Looking rather cool:
