Bloody Ford

Postby dan_robinson » Wed Sep 13, 2017 3:06 pm

New van arrived today all nice and shiny....

Problem is - someone forgot to tell the factory to put the adaptive cruise control that I ordered in....

Does anyone know what the next move is? Not sure it is something that can be retrofitted?

Waiting for a call back from the broker.... Could be interesting.

Still not sure what the outcome will be for definite.... But, so far it looks like I'll be keeping this van until they can build me a new one.

That's going to cost them dearly as I'll have to have it racked out. Told them today that the costs including my time will bring that to circa £1500+vat.

Plus the depreciation of a vehicle with possibly 15000 miles on it.

Next question to ask them is what about my lease payments? I'm sure as schit not paying rental on a van I didn't specify .

Wonder if I can string this out until I get a face-lift?

Sorely tempted to say I'll pay the difference and get the face-lift with h2 roof.

T&C’s will be firmly stacked in Fords favour. If they don’t tell you to bog off they offer you a sweetner to take the van as it is. There’s no sense in them doing anything else imo.

Quite possibly, but my contract is not with Ford, and the broker I went through have said, on a recorded call (by me) that I should have the van I ordered.

Not been racked yet... That's due for Monday.... But they've been given "reasonable notice" of costs. I've said that they can retrofit if it's possible so the ball is in their court.

My losses would be of their making.... I've already swallowed two days for the original planned installation. If they're fook up means it has to happen again, then that's their problem not mine.

My racking it out will cost me £4.5k.....having to move it to another vehicle in 5/6 months will cost THEM £1.5k.

But less than Ford’s ‘lawyer’

Anyway, I hope you get what you want but I won’t hold my breath, and if I were you I wouldn’t spend any money that you might not get back.

Earns more than me ? I can earn 20 quid an hour down ribby square with a bit of Lippi and batty riders on
Litigation can run it to thousands and if you loose you've f*** it with your balls out
Unfortunately Its not down to a lawyer but some turnip farming prick of a county judge
I would suggest a course of action as follows
1 mitigate your losses
2 dirty protest :P

As I said..... My contract isn't with Ford..... But, as you mention it.... He deals with Ford conglomerate size contracts and bigger ;)

Financially, I won't lose out.... When if I'm put in a tramps van for a while.... And by tramp van.... Trend spec will be a bit of a climb down. :(
