Security update

Postby moley551 » Fri Sep 15, 2017 1:53 pm

Just booked the van in for an Mot/service and found it's due the security update to change the global unlock fuction, must have only just been added as it wasn't shown two weeks ago. I've only just fitted the lock bezel and cut the unlock wire inside the door. Bloody Ford!

Do you know how much is it going to cost altogether and does it come with another year of breakdown cover as mines also due its first MOT.

Wippersnappers, mine's nearly 4 years old, last year the Mot and service was about £180, I didn't ask about price, but will find out.

Two year life for brake fluid, then it boils up causing a major pile up, getting blood all over your new blouse @ £39 Mr Ford can have the hassle.....need the recipe for dog cake if you've got a spare minute...

No problem dude I make it every week
You need one of those hand held blender chopper things really
Mine bunt out by using ox liver so I modified it to fit an electric drill
This makes a large cake I mix it up in 2 dog bowls
Ingredients...approx..
1 killo of pigs liver
10-15 eggs
Pint ish of milk
Bag of self raising flour maybe more

Blender thing the liver to mush it up in the dog bowls
Eggs and milk in a jug and mix with the blender
Get a fork out and split the eggs/milk mix between the bowls give it a mix
Then add the flour till it's a gooey cake mix
Bung it in the oven about 160° till it looks cooked
Cut it up while its warm bag it and freeze it
They will do anything for liver cake
Bite your fooking hand off

Have you made it yet?
Some times I run out of liver and use fish heads n stuff

So if I want this update will they tell me or do do I tell them ?
Or do they leave it till you take it for a service?

Mine has it.

Bloody Ford, so they will ids your locking strategy but do they replace the barrel for an anti grab 1? No? Hmm.
Is the change of parameters something that it's already in ids? Or is it a software update to the bcm/ipc?

If it gets broken into prior to having the tsb addressed by Ford will the insurance know and will they tell you tough luck Pedro?

If that happens then can you claim off Ford as it was technically their fault?
Or will it be in their small print stating that any locking system they supply can and may be overcome by thieves and as such they are only there for fun and we need to make safe the vehicle ourselves to be fully secured?

Opens up a right can of worms doesn't it :?

Do i fit my original clattery injector and book the van in for the security and the injector repair?
Will reprogramming the original injector show up on their ids?
Will they know from the original manufacture of the van that the 4 injector corrections are original?

Arrrrgggghhhh.
:-)
