Key fob battery

Postby moley551 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:50 pm

Can you change the battery in the key fob? it's just stopped working today, but my unused spare works fine so must be the fob, I think someone said the are recharged from the ignition. I can remove the three buttons but can't see a way in to a battery. Just had the security up date so now the rear doors won't unlock unless you put the key in the ignition and reset the door buttons.

Hey you, that it's my idea i put on the forum a while ago and it is patented, free licence but you must say loot is da bomb

Think i read somewhere that when the fob remote fails the key must be replaced with a new 1(Ford literature) which is fine assuming that they can be bought for 9.99 and not 200+ supply and coded.

Thanks, hopefully it's a simple fix? part one of my master plan is complete, the key is 346 miles away from me, about to be sent off for repair.

I didn't know this, thought it was the same as my previous mondeo - must remember to use my spare key occasionally!
