Friday night my alarm went off so I went outside and isolated it but the fob wouldn't work so opened it manually but none of the door electrics would work either and I couldn't get in the back doors, thought it was strange but started the van up and run it fine.
This was around 10pm at night and the drive was lit up relatively well with other properties being able to see the van clearly, just shows how brash they are when it comes to the chance of getting caught.
The next morning I came out and same thing, had to manually unlock and no electrics so I went to check the fuses and noticed damage paint between the door and front arch which in turn lead me to see a sliced wiring loom!!!!
I'm guessing they were hoping the doors would unlock by slicing the loom, which they didn't. Luckily I'd put a hykee lock on which prevented them gaining access through the barrel.
Spoke to ford there quoting £170 plus VAT for a replacement loom fitted (which I thought could have been worse)
But this has obviously made me anxious as to it happening again.
Wondering what other deterrents to try, found these below just need to see if they do guards for the rear doors, going for a steering lock to and possible OBD port security device
Any tips or advice would be appreciated
