Revs surging

Hi, 9 month old 130 Custom, it has been throwing up service needed on dash last few days, cut out on me once and has tonight started surging at tickover, 1000 rpm donw to 5=6-- them back to 1000rpm, thing is, I am 260 miles from home, supposed to be going to Newcastle Airport tomorrow, what do i do?

Same as mine.
The revs thing, i'm led to believe, is normal and sometimes happens before the engine has fully warmed up. Supposedly stops it cutting out. Weird sh*t.
As for the service needed message, either take it to your Ford dealer or do as i do and turn it off by switching on ignition without firing up and press and hold the accelerator and brake pedals both together until the message goes off, usually about a minute or so.

Newcastle airport now, going away, for a few days, have called the garage where I bought the van, it is booked in on the day I get back to the UK, the garage happens to be on my way home from the airport, as the garage is 40 miles from my house, was told sometimes even when nearly new, they need the oil and filter changed, then the van told it has been done, wtf! will see what happens next Friday

It is well documented on this forum. Seems like a computer glitch to me. Have you had the dipstick upgrade yet? Apparently there is a need for a new dipstick with a new top level mark and so the van ends up with more oil than originally planned.
It is a f*** up by Ford all round. Maybe the new Customs will settle down eventually. Got to live in hope.

Not sure, I t was 6 months old when I bought it, with 900 miles on it, it was the demonstrator, it is going back to the garage it was bought from for the diagnostic check, I had the model 115 van before this one, 5 years and only put diesel in it, this is not looking good, only had this one 3 months, see what they say next Friday, can forget about it for a few days, going to Alicante in the morning
