Hi would any owners of Transit Custom Terrier/Wellhouse or similar conversions have any information on the type and location and size of the underslung fresh water and waste tanks to the SWB vehicle, any pics would be appreciated. Pip.t

You might also consider locating a tank internally in the wall void behind the drivers seat CAK do one and Caledonian Campers fit them in their conversions

CAK replied to me previously with this statement regarding the kit they sell on EBay ''please see our listing number https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272930188780 for CAK-189. I am afraid that we don't have any fitting instructions for the requested installation. If you are planning to instal this water tank vertically we wouldn't recommend using access hatch as this hatch isn't completely waterproof. Alternatively, we can weld connectors (40mm, 25mm, 15mm and 10mm) onto this tank according to your requirements. You may find useful our universal mounting kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272818998621.you will need https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272818998605, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272818998350, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272818998512, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272937060506 ''.

I would be very careful about this and double check on their advice but it might be quite a good set up. Caledonian had a really neat filler on the exterior wall of the van and a drain below . I suppose that an internal , insulated tank would not freeze in winter like the underslung method. Might be worthwhile giving Caledonian Campers a ring .Good luck!
My van is a SWB high top and I am also investigating roof hatches - standard RV type but also Marine and Bus hatches !

@pip.t - sorry to take a while replying, but I only got my Wellhouse Terrier a week ago :D (post to follow)

The water and waste tanks are slung under the driver's side, between the two wheels - fresh water near the front, and waste water at the rear. The fresh water fills via a lockable pipe in the driver's door well (so internal, and away from road dirt etc.), and both tanks have external drainage taps. Mine has the winter kit fitted, which means that the tanks are lagged and contain small heater elements.

I haven't used them in anger yet, so I can't say how well they all work in practice, sorry (I don't anticipate any issues with them though, but as a caravanner I'm used to fiddling with water fillers and tanks lol).
