Electric window problem

Postby DrDeAtH » Sat Jan 27, 2018 1:05 pm

Drivers side window packed up yesterday, its not the switch as I've tried a new one to no avail.
Passenger window still works as it should from both switches.
Anyone have an idea or a wiring diagram. There are no clues in the BEMM.

Thanks in advance.

Wiring breaks in door loom,if you peel back the rubber channel you may be lucky and see it,a struggle if more than one is broken as there all black....

Well, apart from about 30 black wires, there was nothing obviously broken. A pinout of the window switch and door pillar multiplugs would be handy. Although it's raining and I can't be arsed to stand out in it at the moment testing...

That fuse is intact.
Power mirrors work.
Door locking works off the remote and door buttons

Update time...

Wiring between the switch and motor plug checks out.
I made up a jumper wire to prove the motor worked from the switch multiplug. It did, so it's not a bad earth or the motor itself.
All I can think of is that it's the position sensor that plugs into the top of the window motor unit.

Some closure on this thread...took the door pillar plug apart today and found a mess of corrosion and a few broken pins. New door loom and a thorough clean up of the plugs has saved the day...
