Security

Postby neill » Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:23 am

I've purchased some generic shock sensors , kind of thing that you add to an existing alarm . I'm planning to fit them in the cargo area near my door locks. When they are activated they produce a negative (earth ) trigger. Does anyone have any ideas how I can use this trigger to activate the ford alarm. I've tried sending the signal to the interior lights but does not activate alarm?

Yes it has , gets activated by motion sensors in cab or by opening cab doors . Does not appear to have any protection in the cargo area

That may be because it will go off when a door is opened?

Isn't that the point of any alarm, to go off when a door is opened ?

its not that stupid really! As we have seen, doors can be peeled back and if the door isnt actually open then the alarm wont go off. Hopefully the the change in pressure will get through to the cab and set the motion sensor off but this can not be relied upon. You can try this out... get in the back of the van and close the doors, dead lock them with the key fob, then without unlocking open from the inside with the little yellow finger hole and the plastic handle on the nearside door and you will find you can push the doors open without setting off the alarm. Now you wont be able to open them far because the dead locks are in place but it does prove that you can peel a door down from the top without setting off the alarm

So I'm stupid for asking a perfectly sensible question?

My original post was just asking if anyone knew how to use a neg earth trigger to activate the factory alarm . If you can't help that's not a problem but firing crap at me just isn't really neccasary
