Front Grille Removal

Hi all,

I'm trying to remove the front Grille on my 63 plate transit custom. Found the attached image online and I've highlighted the part I'm wanting to get out. My question is, can this be removed without removing the whole bumper? If so, can anyone give me instruction please? I've tried pulling at it, but no joy! - tried removing the two 10mm studs behind the number plate, makes no difference...

If you trie to remove the grille without removing the bumper, you will allmost certainly destroy the dozens of plastic clips which hold the grille in place!
