tpms valves/sensors help

Postby Widget2k13 » Mon Feb 26, 2018 11:26 am

hi, i have changed my wheels on my van and now i get tpms malfunction error, is there any way to disable this from my van full stop ?
i was going to buy new sensors and get them fitted but all ford dealers i have spoke to say they need to be programmed to the van ?
would much rather just disable the whole thing

I think they were under pressure and went bang .
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

Bit late to answer sorry I have been away. The sensors do not need programming on the Custom. Get 4 Ford sensors fitted to your new wheels, part no. 5091251 (about £30 each). When you swop the wheels do a TPMS reset.

No warming message, all fine.

Disabling the TPMS sensors is illegal and an MOT fail as far as I know.

They're not expensive and easy enough to fit (for a tyre fitter). The Ford system is very basic anyway as it can't differentiate from one wheel to another, it just listens for a periodic broadcast from each sensor and if one doesn't come it displays the warning message.

Hi is there TPMS on the limited as the company that will be fitting my wheels has asked this question and i have said no. Is it an option or just on the sport?
