Tourneo Custom Sliding doors

Postby kazoo_u » Wed Mar 07, 2018 11:37 pm

I’m looking to buy a lwb tourneo custom to convert into a camper. Does anyone know if the sliding doors can be individually disabled permanently for the inside and outside? (ie. I only want passenger side one to open). I think my mk7 has a knob to turn to disable the handle on the inside but can’t remember if it disables it on the outside too. Thanks in advance.
Mk7 T260 swb 85ps camper self build. Roofrack with inset solar panel, Vantuner enabled cruise control.

You mean the child locks?

Both side doors have child locks meaning they can't be opened from inside but can still be opened from outside OK.

If you are converting it anyway, why not just get a panel van and put the windows in. Probably cheaper in the long run and possibly easier/cheaper to insure as well.

If you're fitting units across one of the doors I'd get a panel van or a kombi van with windows but only one sliding door.
