Trailer bulb fault

Looking for some help with a Towbars electrics problem.
Last week towed caravan to Cornwall found the near side lights were not on including indicator. Thought it was the caravan, towed a small trailer this week no lights on trailer. Drove van last night with NO trailer and now have
“trailer turn bulb fault “ and the indicators flash fast.

first thing to check is the socket on the back of the van, if its a factory fitted tow bar all the wires in the back of the socket are "Potted" but if its aftermarket it could be full of water /corrosion,

Took the van to a towbar fitter this afternoon, he checked the socket no problem, then checked the control box which is located under the passengers foot well. It was about 1/2 inch of water under the plastic step cover. The control box was soaked and blew a fuse. Dried out and new fuse put in, job done.
He did say however he has seen brand new customs the same it’s a weekness of these vans, which was news to me, worth checking under the step cover though

Just to resurrect this one, I'm having the same problem with my custom.

About to take off the passengers plastic step cover and have a look.
