hi newbie on here fitting seats in the back of my custom removable types in them floor channels looks like ive got to lower the fuel tank any one done this it seems to be straightforward 3 straps undo the bolts just enough to get my hand up to put the nuts on or does the whole tank have to come off

I lowered my tank 2 weeks ago, i undid the 3 bolts and removed them, passenger side, I needed access to the girl tank sender on top, it lowered quite a lot, but if you need to drill holes up from below then I'm not sure that method will work.

My fuel was about quarter of a tank and I was able to lower it about 5-6 inches. If you do that and can drill down from above through the template then you only want to get the nut/bolt in from below then that's fine. You can then refit the strap loosely and undo the other side to get that.

If you have a nearly empty tank I see no reason to remove it fully although I would be wary of undoing the fat fuel filler pipe and then also struggling to offer up the tank again.
Pick your battle I guess, unless you have 1 of those things hanging around?

did the same the 3 straps off passenger side lowered just enough had problems with the bolt locations nightmare ive give up
