Spare wheels - who's still got theirs?

Postby bluebottle » Sun May 13, 2018 6:57 pm

My neighbour (also a custom owner) mentioned today the latest fun for criminal twatmonkeys is.. cutting the cable on transit custom spare wheels and making off with them. Yay. We've both lost ours - some time in the last two weeks. Not something I'd notice day to day!

Ha.

My neighbour's boss wants him to replace his, but I think I'm going to replace mine with a can of tyre weld. I'm not sure being a renewable tyre resource for local scumbags is my idea of a fun time.

I keep mine in the van.
Took it off the cable attachment in the first week of ownership and got rid of the cable.
Nasty pile of sh*t to be dealing with in a roadside emergency at the best of times.

Yeah - I don't have a lot of room in mine to do that (camper) and my neighbour is a kitchen fitter so his is full of tools and kit. I might measure up under the bed but it loses a lot of storage to have it inside..

I bought a spare wheel security plate for the spare wheel on my Discovery. Perhaps there is something similar for the Transit.

Put razorblades on the sparewheel, as they are probably nicking those tyres in the night, they probably won't see the blades.
I friend of mine got his lightbar stolen twice, third time he put razorblades underneath the bar, they tried to steal the bar a third time. Lot's of blood on the ground. Muahahahahah

I wanted to get a cctv camera as a precaution as only once about 10 years ago my car and 3 others got keyed for no reason and it's best to have it so I found the ideal one then read if you stare directly into the beam it can damage your eyes  so I'll need to find another one without a laser
