DCIV rear load floor

Postby RobS84 » Mon May 28, 2018 10:45 pm

Sorry if this has been asked many times, but my
Searching didn’t find any posts.

Few weeks into being a transit custom lwb dciv owner (15 plate), coming from a older T5 I’m generally happy with the modern ness and toys. But few things seem more basic, front seats (well all seats) and my question, the floor.

This van has carpet around all seats and carpet mats in front! I’m used to a nice soft cushioned rubber floot front to back.
I’ll get rubber mats for the front.

The load area appears to have around a suspended 5mm two part ply floor covered in some cheap slippery (wipe clean)
plastic.
I’ll get a sheet of rubber to cover it from somewhere (suggestions?),but the way it’s
Raised is awful and bends under your foot if you stand in various positions.

Easiest way to fix it?
Put more heavy ply on top?
Put more supports Underneath?
Remove the supports and put something smaller in ridges?

The T5 floor was thick slightly molded underneath but just sat on the uneven floor.
I have some sheets of barrier Matt. So I’m tempted to remove the plastic / polastyinge supports and lie the ply on the barrier Matt.

Thanks in advance
