Rear door light switch

Postby CRM » Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:20 pm

Hi all, does anyone know where the rear door light switch is ? its a regular twin opening doors on a 14 plate.
Be nice to disconnect the switch to save the battery with the doors wide open

In the locking mechanism most likely, it'll see the door ajar.
You can buy leds interior lights, much brighter and will stay on for days without flattening the battery, mine do anyway, the Ford ones are expensive on eBay though. You could make some cheaply.

Or

Fit a switch that disconnects the lamp you have.

Could try closing the latch manually with the door open it may work or may not (back doors)

Sliding door has a pin switch that you can bypass (push in).

Cheers for the reply
The side door is easy enough as i can disconnect the plug from the inside - at the back of the switch, but finding the rear door one is difficult.
Changing the OE ones for LED is a good idea - anyone know which type ?

Yes the led’s will work and the switch is buried in the lock as said. I had the factory fit LED’s and added metre long strips of LED’s. I could leave them on all day (they time out around 20 minutes after each door opening anyway) and the rear was literally like a floodlit football pitch.

They will be festoon type about 38mm long, but slip the cover off one and measure to be sure.
