Warning message

WP_20180804_13_42_56_Pro.jpg

So i'm on holiday in France and this message comes up on the screen yesterday, Saturday.
AdBlue says 245 miles till no start.
Phone TrustFord in Warrington and they tell me it should be fixed under warranty here in France. I'm yet to find out until tomorrow, Monday.
Seems a bit rich as i'd taken the van in for some investigative work, only to be told they couldn't find a problem. No message has come up regarding filter cleaning in progress for over 5000 miles. Bit pissed off to say the least.

Euro 6.

Be a problem with not regenerating the dpf probably in the system will be a faulty dpf sensor, wiring, blockage.

These euro 6 are very good on the environment as they don't run long

Hopefully they'll sort it for you mate :-(

I don’t want to alarm you but I had the same message, took it to the Ford Agent and they ordered a replacement EGR valve under warranty. They didn’t have one in stock and recommended that I didn’t drive it, but no courtesy vehicle available, I was stranded about 11miles from home. They fixed it the next day (they estimated it would have been £500+ if not under warranty). It’s been OK since. I had noticed a few days before the warning light came on that the exhaust note changed, it got quite a bit louder.

The AdBlue won't start message mileage keeps getting lower, about 200 miles now, and today is the first day of properly getting it sorted after the weekend shut down here in France.
If the Frogs can't help then it'll be recovery back to Cheshire.
But if they can sort it and I have to leave it with them for a day or two, I've got a Triumph Tiger 800 in the back waiting to get me about on.

I just bought a new custom 320 DCIV limited. Guy who delivered it told me not to let the adblue get too low, said it's been known to give problems. Also advised to use Ford Adblue to avoid any warranty problems.

What was the outcome of you taking it to the French Garage last Monday, did they resolve your problem?
big John Thomas- you crease me up with your witticisms, you’re very rude but have accurate observations

It's been a fookin' nightmare, but thanks for your interest.
Someone went to the garage and took the van to another garage yesterday afternoon to do the diagnostic work today.
With the Frogs having their second month shutdown, August shutdown, trying to find someone to have a look is like looking for rocking horse, but seem to be getting there now.
Honestly it is a nightmare. Got to be out of this gite on Saturday a.m. on the ferry Sunday or that will be more expense. At least someone has got the van now as the first garage couldn't get a technician to have a look until this Monday coming.
Jeez, I hate Froggies now. At least I still had the bike.
WARNING: NEVER BREAK DOWN IN FRANCE IN JULY/AUGUST.
I broke down in June once, with a failed water pump on my last Tranny, fixed same day. Lucky or what? Maybe.

Got my van back this afternoon.
Froggies reckoned there was no AdBlue in it. Bollox. Well I put in 10 litres last Saturday, Frogs put in 5 litres, so I just bought another 5 litres and the tank overflowed after 1 litre. So by my reckoning there was still 5 litres left in a 21 litre tank.
So because they said it was dry they wouldn't fix under warranty and stung me for €314.
Feels like I've been shafted. But what could I do? Argue the toss. I've got to get home and so i'll take it up with TrustFord at Warrington when I get back.
Good luck, i'll fookin' need it.

Sounds like he's the French brother by marriage to the pretty boy surfer dude chewing his lunch while barely acknowledging me and telling me lies about my van at Bretton Evans Halshaw that I ended up fixing myself

But it'll be an isolated incident I'm sure

I’d be interested in an update, did you get back to civilisation without the engine shutting down and failing to start?.
Hopefully you got back to the UK without incident and got a UK Ford Agent to look at it. You have my sympathy with your misfortunes, I hope you were still able to enjoy your holiday, it shouldn’t have to be nescessary to carry a motorbike in the back just in case you breakdown!

Oh yes mate, the Frogs sorted it out and cleaned the exhaust filter and it ran as sweet as a nut back from Burgundy. In fact it ran better in a way as it was a lot more economical.
Referring to my previous post, I've had to take the matter up with Ford UK regarding my payment for something that should have been fixed under warranty. Just got to wait and see.
No it's not necessary to carry a bike in the back but well worth it.
