Factory SatNav or just Apple CarPlay?

Hi, I am about to trade in my 16 plate L2 custom Limited for a new L2 Sport in Orange Glow. Ideally I wanted the built in SatNav but the dealer says this will be a factory order and will delay the vehicle by several months. If I go without the SatNav I can have a vehicle mid September.

So question is, is the factory Nav worth holding out for, or is CarPlay a viable option?

I just use google maps with my phone on a windscreen mount with my 2017 Custom.

I thought the new ones could use Carplay / Android Auto, which should actually make it a lot easier.
I've never understood how manufacturers can charge hundreds for a built in satnav when you can get a free one with your phone

I have satnav in mine, and works pretty good. Android Auto is just pure crap, touch the screen 3 times while driving and it locks you out. Jeez

I wouldn’t bother integrates brilliantly with my iPhone I just use maps and apparently you can use Waze on sync 3
I haven’t tried yet
