Transit Custom RS170 Edition?

Hi,

I am looking at this transit custom on eBay at the moment. It states in the as that it is an RS170 edtion and that it has 170ps. I've since done a RAC vehicle check and it's coming back as 123ps.

I am not really knowledgeable on this van. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

170Hp is approximately 123kW. kW is the official unit of power, not Hp.

My guess is its had a remap. Potentially nothing wrong with that but I doubt Ford will honour any manufacturers warranty in the unlikely event they discover the remap.
The ECU can now be remapped via the OBD port but thats a relatively recent development, they used to need the ECU removing which is easier to detect.

I'm pretty sure the custom rs isn't a ford option but one that has been taken and modified by the company rs edition so etis will only show the original build spec. N
