Mk5 SWB med roof

Postby dirtydog » Sun Mar 05, 2017 6:05 pm

Time has come for my old mk5 to go, getting grief from the Mrs as she wants to park her new car on the driveway

2000 W reg, 85ps, originally a Scottish and southern energy van. Got a fair bit of paperwork to go with it, service print out, receipts etc

I bought it in 2010 and served me well until the rust got hold of it. I took it off the road and started to repair it, replaced one of the rear doors with a better one and some checkerplate over the top of it and also replaced the passenger side inner wing, sill, outer sill to the b pillar, outer wing and a new battery tray but then as is always the way life got in the way. Work got very busy leaving me little time to to sort the drivers side and the patch needed underneath.

It has been used as storage for the past 2 years and was started and moved regularly up until last summer it has since sat on my drive way.
The batteries are completely knackered so I have binned them. Plus I wouldn't want to start it without giving it all a check over first.

A few details,
182k miles
Rear tyres had done about 1000 miles and fronts about 10 when I took it off the road
Electric heated colour coded mirrors,
Electric windows with tourneo door cards,
Captains seat with 2 arms and no rips, original twin passenger seats,
2 battery setup
Tourneo rev counter clocks with plasma dials fitted
Central locking
Kiltec lock surround for the ignition
Black A bar
Steel bulkhead
Rear safe-t-bar

The things I did to the it before abandoning it
I stripped the cab floor, welded a few patches, repainted, fitted sound deadening stuff, put the rubber floor mat back in and then a new fitted carpet mat over the top,
And al the work to replace the front passenger side inner and outer wing and sill inc battery tray
New front bumper and grill

Not sure what it's worth so thought I'd offer it on here first

I'll put some pictures up tomorrow when it's not raining
