Ford Transit Mk1 Cherished Camper Van

£ 1,870.00 - SOLD (16 bids)
Ended Sun Jun 4th  7:01pm GMT
Seller: hippo75

Very reluctant sale of our camper van which now needs an enthusiast to maintain and fettle into a perfect classic camper. Bought in March 1990, our boys grew up in it and we have had many holidays in it. MOT until 17 Nov 2017, 122,855 miles on clock, 45,777 with current owners, TAX FREE - registered as Historic Vehicle. Lots of history available.

Features: bench front seat folds down and cushions fill in to create double bed. Two hammocks set in roof suitable for up to teenage. Gas/ electric (12v) fridge, 2 burner stove + grill. Electric water pump. Leisure battery. 6lbs Camping Gaz cylinder. Original awning included with all poles, pegs, and curtains.

Engine: weber conversion Summer 2016. Reasonable oil pressure 52lbs on idle. Vacuum gauge helps economical driving, about 25 mpg on unleaded + additive. Last MOT required rear handbrake overhaul, rear wheel cylinders, replacement master cylinder.

Minus points: becoming unreliable, engine cuts out on a long journey which might be fuel starvation or dirt in fuel tank. Rust to be expected with a vehicle this age - footwells rusting, offside bottom of drivers door. Water tank has small leak.

Inspection welcome by appointment

Definitely, but I have upgraded to a 1997 Autosleeper Duetto so I'm keeping the faith!

6,000 page views and over 200 watchers, so tomorrow is going to be an exciting day!
