*NOW SOLD* Mk5 150 2.5td auto

Well it's a sad day, that I have to sell my Mk5, I'm unable to find anyone to change the fuel injection pump so I'll put it on here and if no one is interested she'll be going for scrap.

It's a swb 150 with twin side loading doors. 2.5 turbo automatic. It has the Lucas pump. If anyone interested they must be able to move it quick. It will start and run but won't rev up. I'm now fully disabled so did the best I could to look underneath and it's not too bad needs a bit of welding on the rear and a couple of small patches near the front of the rear spring hanger, not sure on the front as I couldn't get under but it was okay last time I looked. It has about 120k miles. Auto box overhauled a few years ago and was fine when last on the road. I do have a pump to fit but that will be extra.

I also have a Lucas laser 2000 and loads of modules for other cars, cables, books and a cd, the person I bought it from said it came from a diesel specialist that had closed down. £250 collection only.

If it goes for scrap I'll possibly be able to strip out a few bit n bobs so watch out (maybe) for more stuff later.

Have you tried a diesel specialist to see if they can fit the pump?
Seeing as you have the diagnostics , it shouldn't be to hard for them !?

What exactly is wrong with the current pump ? Have you run the laser through it to see what's amiss ?

I have a diesel specialist about 5 miles away and he just didn't want to know, he's just glad that there's not many cars left on the road with the epic pumps lol. Also with my pump being secondhand didn't excite him. I've tried a good few garages and as soon as I say lucas they don't want to know and Matt says it's easy job just switch it and it's plug and play. I think too many garages around here have had too many bad experiences with them as there was a lot of taxis that ran them.
I had someone first look at it and at the time I couldn't find a pump but the van was damaged while he had it and someone also tried to break in so we had a falling out. But the codes have been check and it's something in the top of the pump. When it first happened it would run fine then just blow thick black smoke which would come and go. It was running in limp mode but he tried to clear the fault codes so now it will only tick over.

Hi Aly yes van still for sale, thing is I had an operation go wrong so now fully disabled so can't check the front of chassis. From what I can see there's three places at the rear needs doing, I had welding done at last mot, I had the gearbox overhauled then and the prop shaft changed, body wise the front wings have been patched up in the past but need doing again or replacing. I used the van all the time and I'd go anywhere in it and if the pump was sorted I'd still use it but it has been standing a few years now so brakes need checking . I was converting it into a camper but my back stopped the work but it has been carpeted out.
I'm looking for the best offer, my daughter phoned around a few scrap yards but not sure what she was quoted but there is someone else interested but I need to get his number as it was his son that told me but I think I wrote the number down wrong so need to see if I can get it of my neighbours son I he think should have it, but not been well enough to get out for the last few days to see.

Unfortunately I know next to nothing of the epic pumps, even though I have a spare epic engine as a fall back if my Bosch packs in.
It's a shame there isn't anyone willing to have a bash.
Could you maybe try asking through Facebook, as it's a far reaching audience?!

Personally, from experience, don't scrap the van , at the least sell it on eBay , spares repair, yes you may get a few blaggers and messers but you'll get far more £'s then the scrappies paltry offer.

To be honest I'm fed up asking people, I've had someone but then they don't show and won't answer their phone or emails. It does scare people off as it has to be an epic pump for an automatic nothing else will work correctly. Matt has offered but can't do it for another month and I'm on a timeline to get it moved. I'd love it to be back on the road but it looks like I'll be getting a sprinter auto.
