They do exist :!: But was NEVER available in the UK :!: :? :? :?

The only (official) smiley auto was a 85PS turbo diesel  :? :? :?

For some reason or other, you didn't have an engine choice  :?

If you wanted a smiley auto from a Ford dealer it had to be the 85PS turbo diesel  :?

Whether it was a short wheel base low roof or a HiCube 17 seater minibus, auto with that 85PS oil burner only :!:

Nothing stopping you converting one  :!:

auto conversion

Postby mickreeves » Thu Nov 23, 2006 3:48 pm

I was considering a conversion.
Not seen a box for sale yet.
Guess I would need torque converter, gear lever, vacuum pipe.
Maybe propshaft, gearbox cross member, flywheel.
How about axle flange, starter inhibit link. What else?

Why not buy a complete and testable Sierra/Granada/Scorpio  :?: :D

But remember :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

There are no less than 3 main variants of this box :!: :x

auto box

Postby mickreeves » Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:35 pm

Good idea, but means extra work and trouble getting rid of the remains. Also other parts less likely to fit mine.
Any clues as to the three types?
