Wanted, Second generation LWB SHR, HR, Hi-cube?

Postby djswampy » Sun Jun 17, 2007 11:29 pm

Wanted
Mk5 (3 or 4 considered) LWB Semi high or high roof. I don't want something with serious Rot. I can handle a respray, few light dents small amount of mechanical work but not heavy stuff. I am an electrician not a mechanic/panel beater/auto electrician. looking to spend not much more than £1000 but I can go to £2000 for the right motor (I find spending money hard so it would have to be something really good for that much).
I am looking on eBay and Autotrader but not having much luck.
I am in Essex and can travel to Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Kent sort of area.
Thank you.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.

Cheers. I did see that thread. I actually commented in it. Thing is, Durham is the other end of the country to me. If it was more local then I might look at it but its the wrong end of my budget. I am a tough cookie to please. It is the sort of thing I'm looking for though, Thanks.

 yeah, a bit far.

Cheers though.

I am in no rush for a replacement van so I can afford to wait for something more local. just didn't know if anyone knew of anything going around here.

hi.

I`ve got a jumbo high cube.
single rear wheel.
done 80,000 ish miles. we`ve been all over the UK in it, france, germany, italy, spain.

Never let us down.

Turbo model.

Top speed only 85mph. Last year when we went to Italy, we did 80mph all the back.

since i`ve had it, we`ve had

discs, exhaust, rear tryes ( michelins) front bearings, clutch, clutch cable.

none of these things let me down, just replaced ready for long trips.

no mot or tax, as its been replaced with a twin wheel jumbo mk6 and a luton.

bodys tatty but nothing serious. i was waiting for more time so i could put it through a mot, but working 7 days a week...... just didn`t happen. been off the road since march.

using it to store stuff in the rear at the moment.

offers around £1200

we are in stoke on trent.

j15, m6.
jumbos do it standing up....

I never updated this. I got a LWB in the end. Cheers for the offers I have had. Got one nice and locally in Ipswich. Although the journey home with it on a trailer was 'interesting'

nah, not yet. Haven't got an MOT for it yet. Or the logbook through. I need some bits for it too. I also want a rack for the roof, but not a couple of bars, I need a full rack rack.
I'll take some photos later.
