Handbrake warning light

Postby a15nma » Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:04 pm

Does a "57" plate transit 350 pick up have a handbrake warning light on the dash?

Thanks

Probably not, unless it has the high spec dash with fuel computer and outside tepmperature display, I think it was 08 before they all had handbrake lights

Thanks for the info.

My mate asked me to look at his as it didn't work. Had a quick look under the handbrake cover and there are no wires!!

Looks like you have confirmed it for me - none fitted, quite unbelievable actually :-)

Cheers

I got 1, the handbrake gator won't compress enough on it's own so sometimes i have to push it down so the light goes out! Will adjust the switch a mm or so when i can be bothered.

None of our 56 plates had one, and the two 07 we kept don't either, but the 08 plate does, so the change must be around 57 plate

Don't see why not i assume it is just going from the switch in the handbrake lever to the clockset/fuse? But then again it could go to the bcm/pcm round the back of the van and up the roof
What are the odds there's an led on the Speedo?(probably)
If ya really really want to know tell me and I'll route it on my spare loom and find out for you but 1 thing is for sure i doubt many ppl will remove the drivers seat, lift up the carpet, undo the channelling open the fusebox, partly dismantle the dashboard, remove the clockset and plumb the new wiring in! That's just insane when you only have to look or feel down at the handbrake......... And breathe loot.

It would be worth doing in conjunction with a heated screen mod.
