Transit Connect Radio problem.

Postby connectwill » Fri Jan 04, 2013 7:24 pm

Hi guys, Just picked up my Connect today and when I got home I went to turn the radio off and found that it would not go off. It goes off when I turn the whole vehicle off but will not turn off at the head unit. Everything else seems O.K. changes channel and volume etc works but it is just the on off switch. Can anyone advise me about this, whether it's the on off button or something else and also if it is something which can be repaired.
Many Thanks :? :? :?

What stereo is this? Or what age is the van?

Hi and thanks for getting back so quick. The van is a 54 reg connect 1.8 Tddi, and it has the cassette radio in. I am not sure exactly what model it is, if it is the 4000, or the 5000 or whatever.

I should imagine that the stereo itself is at fault, and it is probably cheaper to replace it (perhaps with a 6000 CD) than to repair that one

I suspected that this would be the case, just wondered if anyone had had this happen to them before. Thanks anyhow.

Stick one of these in, it's a nice upgrade, and also a straight swap ............

Captain Hook had a few of these a while ago IIRC :)
