Transit Connect Interior lights

Postby Ed52 » Tue Feb 13, 2007 10:34 pm

Hi, I have an 05 reg Transit Connect L200 TD SWB.

Until recently when I unlocked the van using remote the interior lights came on. Also when I switched off the ignition the interior lights came on. This isn't happening now. I can get the lights on all the while using the light switch and I've tried the switch in all 3 positions.
This started when I pressed the wrong button on the remote trying to lock the van with the unlock button.

Has anyone got an idea what has gone wrong?

Thanks
Ed

This is more of a Focus thing, rather than a Transit thing :)

Have you tried what you did again :?: This might correct the 'problem'

Sounds more like a feature than a fault :!:

Do you have any other issues?

Clock running a couple of mins slow each day?
lights on alarm not working?

It's more than likely an issue with the instrument cluster, if the vehicle is UK supplied and sub 100K miles, let a dealer take a look.

The central locking module is the same as Transit.

I usually find disconnecting the battery gets the int lights working again for about 20 mins before it goes t1t5 up again.

My money would be on the delay relay. I had one fail in an older escort and it did just that.

Hi,

I have just recently bought an 03 plate connect lx and I had similar problems with the interior lights staying on but mine was down to the drivers door switch malfunctioning!

I dismantled and found that the switch had come away and was not contacting properly, so I refitted correctly and all is now fine with mine.

It's worth a try but it obviously maybe something more serious.
Hope it helps,

Cheers Day

No, clock keeps time and lights on buzzer works fine.
I suspect that there is something more serious but i'm not really sure what as I haven't got any probs like that.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
