Impulse rechargeable light purchase

Postby GuyT » Tue Jan 10, 2017 9:01 pm

I just bought one of these:

http://www.diy.com/departments/diall-le ... 144_BQ.prd

.... they're £5 cheaper in screwfix (of course) and I am quite sure the equivalent could be found on ebay for less still but the main thing is wow, what an amazing light. I needed some sort of work light as I am working on my van round the back of the flat at times and running power just isn't practical (most of the time) so bought this on a whim and its amazing. The best bit is that it can be charged off the van/leisure battery.

I am quite sure it wont get used a great deal but I just wanted to share because for once I'm happily surprised at how good something is opposed to the "thats a bit naff I'll take it back"

If you need a portable work light this is amazing :D

Had one of those for a while.
Works brilliant (Pun intended)
Lasts ages on one charge.

I would suggest prob a couple of hours on half light, poss more.
I've never run it completely out.
It's got a battery state light on the side, I've never had it below 2 bars
I don't run it on full light (2 settings) Half setting lights up all of my garden no probs.
I intend to buy another to keep in the van as I'm so impressed with it.
Got to wait for a Wednesday free so I can get my old farts discount..lol

I reckon you would get 4.5 hours out of the lamp on a full charge, maybe more.

I got 3.5hrs out of it the other night when working in the van and as straydog mentioned I was down to 2 bars. I was also on 'half light' although the difference between the 2 isn't really noticeable to be honest. The "light" it gives out is amazing, and there is so much light that you don't get shadows if the light is behind you when youre working.

A genuinely brilliant buy in my opinion and even better because it can be recharged in the van. It wasnt cheap but it was worth it :D

Wickes has one on offer for £30 at the mo but its only 10w, I may have to invest in the one on this post as it would come in handy for work. So it charges through the 12v lighter socket :?: That's very useful for me. N

Yes you get 2 charge leads.
One for the mains with a 12v adaptor and one with a cigarette lighter socket.
I don't think you can use it while charging though,

Hey GuyT 3.5hr even better than I thought. :)
