MTE/Fuel Gauge

Postby Chris85uk1 » Fri Aug 11, 2017 7:45 am

Guys,

Anyone had issues with the MTE/Fuel Gauge, mine is a Low Roof SWB 140bhp Mk7.

Basically can fill the van up with fuel, everything reads fine then a few days later the Miles To Empty will show anything from 60-150 miles.... Day after can be back up at 400.

When it went in for MoT the guys said Fuel Sender in the Tank or a broken wire on the Sender Unit, they didnt seem to confident in either answer and seemed to be abit clueless on the whole scenario.

Just wondered if anyone else had the issue and what the fix was?

Thanks

Can only be one of three things, the sender, gauge or the wiring between them.
Not sure if they go through the PCM.
