How to syphon get diesel out of tank

Postby madasamonkey » Mon Sep 18, 2017 4:38 pm

Hi I've just blown the engine up on my MK7 and am having to scrap the van, How can I get the diesel easily out of the tank as its 3/4 full. Tried syphoning no joy even with a 45 deg cut on the pipe that someone told me to try.

Thanks Simon

PS anyone got a MK7 MWB High Roof for sale? I'm based in Hull

Crawl underneath and pull the rubber fuel pipe off from the filler and drain it into a container. N

Use a pump to Syphon it out through the fuel filter or get under ether and drill a hole in the tank.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small
