Lol...not sure what you mean, if I was running a van around town & an ex-postie came at the right price I would have one - no way I would be paying anywhere near middle of the road price though....horses for courses.
No Squire, not just any van....it has to be a Mk7 (VM.1) :D

In recent years the Royal Mail, like BT have been keeping their vans far longer than they used to, so they aren't in such good condition when they are sold.
The best advice with Royal Mail vans used to be to buy the higher mileage ones, as they had done more distance work, and less door to door

There's no disputing that a 100k miles "motorway" van has had a much easier life than a 100k "around the doors" model....the sale price should reflect that.

I think it's safe to say you like your gpo van....I prefer Hi-roof, LWB, RWD, & I much prefer the Mk7 over a Mk6, but the simple fact is, if you allow the task at hand to dictate the van you need, it's often a difference to what you want. :)

You’re right about BT keeping them longer being at the auctions locking for mk8 bus and BT are still putting mk6s thro and they also put a lot of non runners tro as well

Thing is with BT stuff... they are mostly allocated to one driver....
Unlike Royal mail that let any monkey they employ jump in a vehicle and thrash it to within an inch of its life.... along with a heap of stop start work between being ragged like they are stolen
