Both my pre 1960 MOT exempt have been inspected by the DVLA this year. All they were interested in was finding the chassis number stamped into the body not the vin plate & they knew exactly where to look on both.

How does it work, do the dvla send you a letter requesting you to take the vehicle to a local dvla office?. N

No such thing as a DVLA office anymore...

Also all the VOSA Goods vehicle testing stations
are going fast.

They will find a way to police this mot exception mmalarkey don't worry!

Will I have to put a original type engine and gearbox back in to my 72 Landliner that has a Di and MT75 fitted at present to qualify ? Can't see any mention of gearbox changes. Not sure if the landliner was fitted with a V6 as original equipment, can I fit one and qualify ?

Your best option is carry on with the yearly MOT to be legal.

The other option is to keep your cake hole shut and make a false ddecoration. .

I was stopped twice in a fortnight for a full look over at a lidl supermarket car park a few years back. Police check, tank dipped and VOSA crawling under van, low loader waiting.VOSA guy told police he had looked the van over the first time and would not be doing it again, cop said I am. Don't want them taking my van. I won't be going the false declaration route.

Thats right, both my pre 1960 mot exempt vehicles have been inspected by the DVLA as they have to be original to keep there tax & MOT exemption.
