Hi All, currently running 215/75/16 road tires on the beast but she likes to chew the ground up a bit we just sink until we hit bedrock . I have few races coming up which will see me siting in a field in the middle of nowhere on wet grass. The old girl is a mk6 350 RWD and I will get frowned upon for plowing furrows... any good recommendations for off road tires with the correct weight rating?
I've fitted 225/75R16 BF Goodrich A/T KO2's to my MK7. They're 115 load rated (1215kg). No rubbing/clearance issues, they are noticeably closer than stock on the front though.
Great in the snow but I did still get stuck in saturated grass turning very quickly to slick mud.
Trying to reverse out (BTCS not functioning) one rear would just spin without touching the throttle. Not much weight in the back & fronts had sunk overnight. Reckon I may have gotten out if I'd let them down, but no pump/compressor at the time so a tow out from the farmer was the easier option...
Still glad i've fitted them.
M/T over A/T if you are in the mud often. Saw a sprinter 4x4 with those fitted, looked great!
