Which adhesive

Postby Grahamec » Sat May 12, 2018 5:50 pm

Can anyone please advise me of the best adhesive to use to stick wooden battens onto my vans floor in order that I can start my flooring and insulatation. I would prefer not to have to screw down the ba battens.
TIA

Yes definitely don't screw through the floor! I used the best solvent-based grip-fill type adhesive I could find.

I think I've read somewhere that a non setting adhesive is best, any comments please.
Seems that sikaflex 512 may be very suitable.

The non setting stuff is not an adhesive, it’s a sealant. It only skins over and It’s purpose being for places of lots of movement so If the skin breaks it self heals and reseals by skinning over again.

You want a polyurethane adhesive don't use silicone sealent, this one sticks like anything but remains flexible, as used on motorhome skylights and windows
